Cheer Stunts & Stunting

The Types of Stunts in Cheerleading

As a member of a cheer squad, you'll likely be asked to perform stunts. Cheer stunts are impressive feats of athleticism and require a great deal of coordination and strength. There are many different types of stunts, each with its own set of challenges. Here's a look at some of the most popular cheerleading stunts:

The Liberty: This stunt is performed by two people, with one person holding the other in an upright position. The person being held will then extend one arm straight up in the air, forming a "T" shape with their body.

The Arabian: An Arabian is a variation on the Liberty stunt, but with a few key differences. Instead of extending one arm straight up, the person being held will extend both arms out to the side. Additionally, they will be lifted up so that their head is level with the person holding them. This stunt requires a great deal of trust and coordination between the two people involved.

The Pyramid: Pyramids are multi-person stunts that involve multiple levels of people stacked on top of each other. The bottom row will typically consist of two people, who will then support the weight of the people in the rows above them. The pyramid will continue to get taller until it reaches its apex, which is typically one person standing on top of the entire structure.

As you can see, there are a ton of different types of cheerleading stunts. These are just a few of the many cheer stunts you'll have the opportunity to learn at Explosion Cheer Academy!
